RentReadyScore
Educational approval estimate

Check your rental approval risk

This tool estimates rental approval strength using common landlord-style screening factors like income, credit, rental history, evictions, criminal history, reserves, co-signer support, and document readiness.

Educational only. This is not a tenant screening report, consumer report, legal opinion, or approval guarantee. Landlords and property managers use different policies and may weigh factors differently.

How to use this tool correctly

The goal is not to obsess over one number. The goal is to identify the few issues most likely to hurt your application, then strengthen those areas before you apply again.

Use realistic numbers

Enter honest estimates for income, rent, and past problems. Inflating the inputs only makes the result less useful.

Fix high-impact issues first

Income mismatch, evictions, serious rental history problems, and incomplete documents usually matter more than smaller issues.

Use the letter only for context

A Letter of Explanation can help frame a situation, but it does not replace proof documents, reserves, or a co-signer when those are needed.

Renters who used this tool

Built by a housing navigator for people who need real answers.

"I had an eviction from three years ago and kept getting denied without knowing why. The score tool showed me exactly which parts of my file were hurting me. I got approved two applications later."

— Marcus T., Houston TX

"The letter tool gave me something professional to submit. I had a medical emergency that caused my credit issues and didn't know how to explain it. The landlord actually called me to discuss my application instead of just denying me."

— Danielle R., Atlanta GA

"I didn't realize my income calculation was the real problem, not my credit. The guides here helped me understand what 3x rent actually means for my situation and I was able to find properties I actually qualified for."

— James W., Phoenix AZ
